You may add additional fields to business unit details to help you better understand and manage your complex organization.

Creating a Custom Field for Business Units

Step-by-Step process:

  1. Navigate to Custom Fields Settings

  2. View Current Custom Fields: The Current Fields section displays all custom fields already available for business units, such as "Number of Employees".

  3. Add a New Custom Field, n the Add New Field section, enter the required details:

  • Field name: Enter the name of your custom field (e.g., "Established Date").

  • Field description: Provide a description if needed.

  • Field type: Select the type (Text, Number, Date, Boolean).

  1. Mark as Required if this field must be filled for each business unit

  2. Click “Add Field” to save your new custom field.

  3. The new field will appear in the “Current Fields” list, and

  4. also available for use with all business units

  5. When editing or viewing a business unit within the organisation structure, custom fields like "Number of Employees" and "Established Date" will be visible and editable in the side panel.

If your organization creates a field as described below, these fields will be synced for Advanced Analytics and will be available as parameters. Other custom fields remain local to the platform and are not automatically included in Advanced Analytics unless specifically configured. For such configurations, please contact Terrascope through your designated Customer Success Manager.

1. “Energy Generation (kWh / MJ)”

2. “Real Estate (m2 or sqft of Floor Space)”

3. “Transportation (Passenger-kilometers)”

4. “Finance (Revenue in $)”

5. “Agriculture (Head of livestock)”

6. “Legal Entity Name”

ℹ️NOTE:Fields added here are available for all business units and will show up on their details panels.

ℹ️If your organization creates these custom fields before building the organization chart, the customized fields will automatically appear in the downloadable chart template.
