From the main menu on the left, select Analysis > Dashboard.
You will see two primary tabs at the top: Overview and Emission Analytics.
The Overview tab gives executives a quick summary of current and historical company emissions, while the Emission Analytics tab provides deep, actionable detail for sustainability teams.
Understanding the Overview Tab
The Overview tab summarizes your organisation’s emissions trend by different years, Scopes and Categories.
Key components:
Measurement Year
Select the correct year to view the corresponding emissions results.
Click the dropdown to select the desired year.
The dashboard updates to reflect the selected year’s data across all charts and metrics (except for the year-on-year graph).
Business Unit
Allows you to view overall emissions or drill down into specific departments.
Select a business unit to drill down into its specific emissions.
You can choose a parent business unit (“Mark HQ”) which includes all its sub-units or an individual business unit.
View by
You can display emissions data by year, quarter, or month.
NOTE: The quarterly and monthly filters apply only to the Emissions Over Time graph.
⚠️Important: Both Measurement Year and Business Unit require a value to be selected—they cannot be left blank.
Understanding the organisation’s emissions
There are three major sections on this page.
Emissions Over Time Graph
See how emissions for your selected business unit have changed over time with respect to Scope 1, 2, and 3. The default view is yearly, but you can change it to quarterly or monthly as needed.
Hovering over a column reveals the emissions broken down by scope.
2. Emission Insights
Displays net GHG emissions of the organisation
Displays Scopes 1, 2, and 3 breakdown
Click on a Scope (e.g., Scope 1, 2, or 3) to see more details on emissions in that area.Navigating this way will bring you to the Emission Analytics tab, automatically filtered to the chosen category or business unit.
3. Hotspot Analysis
Visualise emissions per Scope 3 categories and its contribution ratio to the net emission.
Highlights which categories contribute most to emissions.
Click on a Category (e.g., Purchase goods and services) to see more details on emissions in that area.Navigating this way will bring you to the Emission Analytics tab, automatically filtered to the chosen category or business unit.
Understanding the Emission Analytics Tab
This tab provides a comprehensive view of all emission-related activities for the selected year and supports detailed analysis. It includes a treemap visualization which offers a quick snapshot of emission hotspots, represented as nested rectangles, covering all activities recorded for the chosen year. An activity table that displays activities along with their associated emission data. Users can refine their analysis by applying filters and grouping options (see details in the following sections) to narrow the list and focus on specific activities of interest.
Key components:
1. Treemap Visualization
The treemap provides a visual representation of emissions grouped by different metrics (e.g., Category, Business Unit, Location). Each cube’s size indicates the relative emission volume, while the color highlights additional distinctions. The treemap can be customized using the “Group By” functionality.
2. Activity table
The Activity Table presents a detailed list of all activities* and their associated emission details for the selected year. Each row represents a single activity, while the columns capture key information. The available columns may include:
*Only activities that have been verified through the Measurement Review process and subsequently included in the emission measurement results are considered.
Category – The GHG category of the activity (e.g., 3.1 Purchased goods and services)
Activity Name – The specific business activity or emission source (e.g., Grid electricity, Coffee beans, Sea transport)
Tags – User-defined labels applied to activities
Emission factor name* – The emission factor applied to the activity (e.g., “Coffee green bean production, arabica; coffee, green bean”)
Emission factor value* – The numeric value of the emission factor (e.g., 9.05422193)
Emission factor unit* – The measurement unit for the emission factor (e.g., kgCO₂e/kg)
Emission factor location* – The location to which the emission factor applies (e.g., Brazil)
Emission factor source* – The database or source of the emission factor (e.g., ecoinvent)
Emission Factor Version* – The version number of the database used (e.g., 3.10).
Location – The location where the activity occurred (e.g., Brazil)
Volume – The numeric value representing the scale of the activity (e.g., 1000).
Unit – The unit of measurement for the activity (e.g., t (tons))
Emissions – The calculated emission volume for the activity
Emission Factor* (Market-based) – Applicable only for Scope 2 electricity
Emissions (Market-based) – Applicable only for Scope 2 electricity
Activity Date – The date when the activity occurred (e.g., 12/27/2024)
Business Unit – The business unit associated with or accountable for the activity
Status – Indicates the review stage of the activity. For example, a “Verified” status confirms that the activity has been reviewed, its emission calculations are finalized, and it is included in the official footprint.
*NOTE: Emission factor information is not visible to users with the Viewer acces
3. Slice and dice the emission result
Available functionality includes:
Filter
Search
Sort by
Group by
Export
Filters
The platform provides several filter options for text-based fields such as Activity Date, Activity Name, and Emission Factor Name.
Once you select a filter, you can further refine results in the filter display.
Free-text entry is supported through the following options:
Contains / Doesn’t Contain – Displays results that include (or exclude) your term anywhere in the field.
Equals / Not Equals – Returns only exact matches.
Starts With / Ends With – Filters activities that begin or end with your search term.
To reset all filters, click Clear All. (Note: Measurement Year and Status will reset to the system defaults.
Search
Use the search bar to quickly find activities by name.
Sort by
Sorting out the list of activities by different metrics
Grouping
By default, activities are grouped by Business Unit. You can change this using the “Group By” dropdown (e.g., Emission Factor Name, Scope).
Grouped results display in an accordion list. Click a group to view activities; if only one exists, it opens automatically.
The grouping selection defines how activities appear in the treemap cubes.
Exporting Data
Click Export to download the currently filtered list of activities. A confirmation popup will display the number of activities that will be exported.
NOTE:
Large exports (hundreds of thousands of records or more) may take longer to process and could be subject to system limits.
For best results, it is recommended to apply filters before exporting to keep the dataset manageable.
Viewing Activity Details
Click on any row in the Activities Table to open the side panel displaying the activity’s details. The side panel consists of several tabs:
Overview: Displays key activity parameters such as scope, category, volume, location, and other relevant information.
EF Match: Shows the emission factor selected for emission calculation, along with alternative emission factor options recommended by AI.
Status: Indicates the current status of the activity (e.g., “Verified”) and includes any reviewer comments.
Reduce: Presents potential decarbonization levers specific to the activity, with detailed explanations for each recommended action.
NOTE: Data accuracy and clean naming practices in activity data and organisational structure will help keep reports clear and error-free. Potential emission factor matches and reduction suggestions, if available.
