Emission factor (EF)
Updated over a week ago

An emission factor determines the quantity of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions released per unit of a particular activity or process.

For example, to find the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) released from burning coal, we can use an emission factor, where 0.94 metric tons of CO2 for each metric ton of coal burned.
